i can't believe it has been more than a month since i have blogged! God has really been working on me this last month and all my thoughts have been sort of scrambled and unclear. but the beauty of being confused and conflicted is, if you keep your eye on God, you come out on the other side more focused and more clear than if you had never been confused in the first place. the book "prison to praise" discusses this phenomenon. it says to praise the Lord even more while you are going through something hard because this brings about such clarity and faith and strength in the end. i think we all pray sometimes for an easy, pain-free life. but the outcome of hardship and difficulty is so much sweeter. sure ~ it's easier to chomp down on a hamburger, but there's nothing like cutting into a perfectly-cooked filet mignon!
my mother called me last night and read this to me before i went to bed ~ you can imagine what kind of restful sleep i had after this nightcap...thanks mom!
PHIL: 4:13 I HAVE STRENGTH FOR ALL THINGS IN CHRIST WHO EMPOWERS ME (I AM READY FOR ANYTHING AND EQUAL TO ANYTHING THROUGH HIM WHO INFUSES INNER STRENGTH INTO ME).
YOU WERE CREATED BY A GREAT GOD TO DO GREAT THINGS. BUT WITHOUT CONFIDENCE YOU WILL NEVER FULFILL YOUR DESTINY. IT IS IMPORTANT, HOWEVER, TO REMEMBER YOU ARE TO BE CONFIDENT NOT IN YOURSELF BUT IN CHRIST WHO DWELLS IN YOU.
SATAN TRIES TO STEAL YOUR CONFIDENCE, BUT YOU MUST RESIST HIM AT ALL TIMES. IF HE HAS TORMENTED YOU WITH FEARS ABOUT YOUR WORTH AND ABILITIES, BOLDLY REMIND HIM GOD IS WITH YOU AND YOU ARE EQUAL TO ANYTHING.
IT IS ENCOURAGING TO KNOW GOD IS ABLE EVEN WHEN YOU ARE NOT. HE HAS HIS EYE ON YOU AND IS WAITING FOR YOU TO SHOW CONFIDENCE IN HIM. FAITH OPENS THE DOOR FOR GOD'S GREATNESS TO BE SEEN THROUGH YOUR LIFE, SO TRUST HIM AND ENJOY THE PEACE AND POWER OF A CONFIDENT LIFE.

i'm still amazed at the power in the word of God. it breathes life into you and makes you believe that every other philosophy is just false doctrine. and it is. so many people are just grasping at straws, and when you finally pick up the bible, it is still alive.
thanks again!
so true, operamama. so true!!
I have had a very tough weekend. This blog really hit home for me. I recently started back on my yoga practice (today actually :)!!) and I in my weekly yoga journal email that I get there is a pose that can help you with your confidence in dealing with agressive people. I don't remember the pose or even what the rest of the article was about, but just reading that gave me the awareness that when we pray and lean on God in times of trouble, we can get through anything.
Thank you tannehill's mom for being so wise. I hope that I can have a relationship like this with my daughter one day - and that she will actually listen to me. I don't have that with my mom and I long to have that mother/daughter connection with my little girl. Any tips?
When a door closes, the Lord always opens a window. For this I am thankful.
God is good all the time and all the time God is good. It's never too late to give up all of our worries and fears to Him. He is our strength, our best friend, and through Him, we can do anything.
